Job Title: Warehouse/Counter Service

Full Time/Non-Exempt

Location: Evansville, IN

Reports To: Branch Manager

General Summary:

This position involves various branch operations: answering calls, servicing customers, generating invoices using a computer, loading items into vehicles. Responsible for the safe operation of all branch material handling equipment, pulling accurate orders, loading branch and customer vehicles, and timely deliveries.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide fast and friendly customer service following "Customer First" standards, in person or over the phone.
  2. Greet customers positively as they enter the branch.
  3. Meet or exceed customer commitments.
  4. Pull customer orders, load into delivery trucks or stage for pickup using safe handling procedures.
  5. Complete accurate paperwork including invoices, C.O.D.s, special orders, and shipping/receiving documents.
  6. Ensure all outgoing products are billed, collect payments securely.
  7. Process customer returns and warranties promptly.
  8. Unload deliveries, place products in designated areas, using material handling equipment safely.
  9. Maintain safe operation of forklifts and other equipment, report damages or safety issues immediately.
  10. Maintain warehouse cleanliness and appearance, including debris removal and tidying shelves.
  11. Keep yard and parking areas clean and organized.
  12. Verify incoming orders for accuracy, report discrepancies.
  13. Handle shipping and receiving with UPS and other carriers.
  14. Use and maintain the counter notebook.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, parts, and supplies (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills for customer service.
  • Proficiency in operating computers and Prophet 21 software.
  • Ability to read invoices, catalogs, and stock descriptions accurately.
Work Environment:

Fast-paced, with frequent interruptions. Requires physical activity including bending, climbing, lifting, and moving. Exposure to extreme cold and heat. Typically Monday through Friday, with some half-day Saturdays. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Successful completion of pre-employment screening is required. Must be 18+ to operate a forklift.
