JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Warehouse Coordinator
Department: Warehouse
Direct Supervisor's Title: Director of Warehouse Operations
Compensation: $25-$27 / hour

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Manage and coordinate warehouse functions in support of field operations by supplying projects with the required materials and equipment to ensure that projects can be completed safely and promptly. Serve as the primary delivery driver forequipment and materials to and from job sites. Provide hands-on warehouse coordination to maintain organized, safe, and efficient warehouse operations while focusing attention on the personal safety of warehouse employees and the safety of others in the warehouse.

DUTIES
  • Attend training and meetings as required.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through the identification of existing and potential hazards throughout the warehouse and ensuring action is taken to mitigate or eliminate hazards.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and health regulations.
  • Ensure the implementation and enforcement of all regulatory requirements and company programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate daily with warehouse personnel. Ensure understanding and provide direction, support, and constant feedback.
  • Evaluate processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, compliance, means and methods, and administrative tasks.
  • Perform housekeeping and ensure that the warehouse and surrounding areas are clean and organized.
  • Supervise company policies and procedures to ensure that job-related waste is properly and safely disposed of in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Implement and manage systems to ensure that an adequate supply of materials is maintained and the correct equipment is available when requested.
  • Coordinate all deliveries and pick-ups from job sites of materials and equipment at the designated time and date.
  • Responsible for quality control. Inspect equipment for defects and ensure it operates properly prior to delivery to the job site. Ensure that all equipment is cleaned upon receipt from prior projects and before delivery to the next job site.
  • Complete all applicable inspection reports and inventory counts using appropriate software.
  • Utilize company software platforms for applicable tasks.
Delivery Driver
  • Operate company vehicles (box trucks, flatbeds, pickup trucks, and trailers) to transport equipment, materials, and tools to and from job sites.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT requirements; document and report any defects or damage immediately.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured using appropriate load securement equipment and methods in compliance with DOT regulations prior to departure.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pick-up logs including mileage, times, load contents, and destination information.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hours of service requirements.
  • Communicate with the appropriate personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and time-sensitive equipment needs.
  • Obtain required signatures and documentation upon delivery and return of equipment or materials.
  • Assist field crews with unloading and staging of delivered equipment and materials as needed.
Tools / Equipment
  • Clean, inspect, and return tools and equipment to proper locations.
  • Track all tools/equipment assigned to projects.
  • Track all tool/equipment inventory in the warehouse.
Fleet Management
  • Inspect vehicles for damage before and after use.
  • Ensure all DOT equipment and load securement equipment is present in all vehicles.
  • Verify vehicle truck information binders are current and up to date.
  • Coordinate with supervisors for tracking of all fleet maintenance and logs.
C&D Dumpster & Waste Manifests
  • Track all C&D and provide information to appropriate personnel weekly.
  • Coordinate with Field Foreman and Project Managers to ensure all C&D and asbestos waste is accounted for.
Security
  • Ensure the security in warehouse and office space; ensure all doors are locked/unlocked when appropriate.
Inventory
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment and supplies within the warehouse. Track all items requested and/or pulled for projects through FieldFlo. Cost code all items as needed.
Warehouse Cleaning
  • Ensure the warehouse space is cleaned as required, including restrooms.
Warehouse, Office, Bathrooms & Kitchen
  • Keep inventory and coordinate the ordering of all toilet paper, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc.
Scheduling
  • Attend scheduling meetings to determine what equipment and materials will be needed the following week.
Off-Hours / On-Call Coverage
  • Available for on-call delivery needs outside of normal business hours as required.
Project Coordination with Superintendents & PMs
  • Communicate and coordinate with project personnel regarding demobilization.
  • Coordinate delivery and retrieval of equipment in alignment with project schedules and priorities.
SUPERVISION

Directly supervises and manages the warehouse. Ensures that work meets the standards of quality and quantity. Makes recommendations to Direct Supervisors regarding warehouse and fleet, such as inventory issues, fleet needs/issues, damages to equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The working environment includes both a warehouse setting and field/road conditions during delivery operations. A desk and computer are provided for paperwork and tracking. The position requires frequent travel to job sites throughout the service area, exposure to varying weather conditions, and the physical demands associated with loading, securing, and unloading equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Some experience in asbestos abatement, construction, warehouse functions, and commercial driving preferred.

General Requirements
  • Must pass a drug screen
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred or required depending on vehicle classification.
  • Must meet all applicable DOT requirements for commercial vehicle operation, including medical certification if required.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment background and driving record check.
  • Ability to provide transportation to and from the warehouse/job site.
Skills and Competencies Requirements
  • Ability to work from general objectives and broad and varying policies, procedures, rules, or precedents with little functional guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate large commercial vehicles and equipment including trucks, lulls, forklifts, and trailers.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, pre-trip inspection procedures, load securement practices, and hours of service requirements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to coordinate with field supervisors and project managers.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment, load and unload cargo, and perform manual labor associated with warehouse and delivery operations.
