Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Modesto, CA is seeking a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Clerk to join our team. You will handle administration, inventory, shipping/receiving, and carrier coordination using WMS and handheld RF scanners in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a clerk in a warehouse/distribution environment preferred.
• Ability to make quick, reliable decisions representing customer and Ryder.
• Strong written, organizational, and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
• Experience operating forklift equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs administrative tasks for area or shift and maintains filing per SOP.
• Generates daily/weekly/monthly reports, memos, and summaries.
• Coordinates activities with clerks from other areas, customers, and providers.
• Recognizes and resolves discrepancies related to warehouse, transportation, and inventory.
• Updates area or shift metrics using the location's WMS.
• May operate equipment and be equipment-certified, depending on location.

Warehouse Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay $23.23 per hour
• Additional Pay: $.75 per hour when working 2nd Shift
• Overtime Pay: $34.84 per hour
• Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday 3:00 PM - 12:00 AM

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience as a clerk in a warehouse / distribution environment, performing duties such as transportation coordination, inventory, shipping / receiving, coordinating with various carriers, vendor and customers strongly preferred
• Ability to make quick, reliable decisions that represent both the customer and Ryder
• Strong written, organizational, and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of WMS systems preferred
• Experience operating forklift equipment preferred
• Equipment certification may be required

• Coordinates activities with clerks from other areas, the customers, and providers
• Recognize, resolve, and correct discrepancies pertaining to the warehouse, transportation, and inventory
• Gather from and provide information to employees pertaining to area of support
• Using the location's Warehouse Management System (WMS), update area or shift metrics as needed
• Depending on location, employee may be required to operate equipment and may be required to be equipment certified
• Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed
