Job summary

E2 Optics in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a logistics/operations professional to support warehouse activities and field operations. You will manage inbound deliveries, stock levels, and order fulfillment while ensuring safety and accuracy across a busy construction environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of logistics/general office management or support experience.
  • Experience on a construction job site is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for at least 3 years.
  • Ability to reconcile stock counts and manage databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound warehouse deliveries and verify accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels; process purchasing orders.
  • Receive, unbox, stock, and deliver goods to client sites.
  • Operate forklift and other equipment following safety policies.
  • Document purchases and perform periodic inventory counts.
  • Maintain clean, secure work area and assist with special projects.

What You'll Do

  • Monitors and tracks job site construction equipment.
  • Oversight for all inbound warehouse deliveries.
  • Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes purchasing orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems.
  • Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary.
  • Operates forklift and other construction equipment as required, ensuring that safety standards are followed.
  • Conducts regular visual inspections of equipment location.
  • Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual inventory received and stock count to computer-generated reports.
  • Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures.
  • Picks inventory items and coordinates materials shipments bound to client sites.
  • Verifies the accuracy of deliveries and materials handling and storage in accordance to contractual obligations and governmental requirements.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • Travel: The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2.
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years’ logistics/general office management/support experience.
  • Experience working on a construction job site.
  • Experience operating/driving a forklift, company vehicles and other construction equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 consecutive years with a clear driving record.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data and manage database.
  • Ability to receive, stock, and /or deliver goods.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated professional demeanor and communications with customers, field team, vendors and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with deadlines.
  • Strong incident investigation, root cause analysis and continuous improvement skills.
  • Easily adapt to changing situations, work-flow and deadlines.
  • Able to respond to situations in a positive manner and provide good customer service skills.
  • Strong administrate and organizational skills.
  • Must have a good command of the English language in order to provide effective phone, desk-side, and email support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
