Job summary

Saputo, Inc. is seeking a forklift operator to move finished pallets, load shipments, and support inventory control in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes accuracy in pulling the correct products and dates, plus safe handling of materials within GMP guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous forklift and manufacturing experience helpful; food operations experience a plus.
• Knowledge of GMP’s, general safety rules and chemical right to know a plus.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems in standardized fashion.
• Must be able to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to add and subtract, count and tally production information.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to put away finished pallets of product, or to load customer orders on trailers for shipment.
• Operates forklift to put away finished goods produced into racking.
• Documents/scans product for inventory purposes.
• Ensures correct product is pulled and shipped to customer; attention to details and codes.
• Manually builds pallets of product for shipment or storage as needed.
• Keep supervisor informed regarding actual versus planned production and downtime.
• Follow all safety rules, GMP and HACCP requirements; report safety issues.
• Provide maintenance related issues to maintenance department via form or paging system.
• Other duties as assigned by management/supervision.
