Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of San Antonio, Inc. seeks a Store Clerk/Warehouse employee to join our nonprofit team. The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, customer service, and efficient store operations in a busy environment.

You will operate the cash register, process payments, assist with stocking, scheduling pickups, and maintain safety and order. Forklift experience is preferred, and you must be able to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2 years’ experience in accurately entering transactions and operating a cash register, cash handling and making change.
• Strong verbal communications skills and ability to work with others.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to complete tasks.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and process payments (cash, check or card) and provide correct change.
• Enter credit card transactions into the terminal and verify merchandise prices before ringing up.
• Provide customer service, answer phones, assist with scheduling pickups and keep the sales area presentable.
• Assist with stocking, loading/unloading merchandise and pricing as directed; maintain store safety and cleanliness.
