We are looking for a warehouse Clerk / Driver to join our team at our Central Kitchen in SW Portland. The Warehouse Clerk / Driver plays a vital role in supporting the Central Kitchen's operational efficiency. This position is responsible for receiving, organizing, and distributing prepared and unprepared food products, as well as various center supplies, ensures accurate inventory upholding the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and compliance. Our ideal candidate will possess two years of experience driving trucks over 24ft. in length, have an excellent driving record, and experience with inventory systems and food services software.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Warehouse

• Maintain accurate and orderly inventory and records of warehouse stock
• Complete monthly warehouse inventory and maintain special inventories
• Maintain the security of the warehouse, including incoming and outgoing of product and personnel
• Process and reconcile daily invoices through Galley software.
• Maintain temperature logs on Walk-ins and Freezers
• Receive and inspect vendor deliveries at the loading dock; record temperatures and apply date labels to all incoming products.
• Safely wrap and store pallets for future transport.
• Coordinate and complete weekly shipments to designated dining centers.

Delivery Driver

• Assist in loading products for delivery, verifying accuracy against packing lists.
• Load daily meals, milk, produce, and other food items onto delivery trucks.
• Deliver food, supplies, inter-office mail, and equipment to dining center or account locations and place in proper area
• Assist as needed with all freight orders for distribution to accounts and warehouse duties
• Ensure compliance with all State and Federal driver safety standards
• Maintenance on carts and Metro shelving (wheels, checking for wear)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Ability to carry and transfer up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly
• Ability to perform multiple repetitive movements
• Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water
• High frequency of repetitive movements, including bending, reaching and stooping
• Operation of delivery trucks, lift gate, pallet jack, hand truck, computer and cell phone
• Sitting for extended periods of time while operating a delivery truck.
• Candidate must successfully pass the Meals on Wheels pre-employment drug test, driver safety training, physical fitness certification and criminal background check
