Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Warehouse/Backup CDL Driver in Jacksonville, FL. The role involves safe loading, delivery, and handling of high-pressure and cryogenic gas cylinders, with daily home time on a typical Monday–Friday schedule starting at 7 am.

The job requires a Class A CDL with hazmat or the ability to obtain within 60 days, DOT checks, and the ability to lift heavy weights and work outdoors. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Complete Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check; DOT Clearinghouse verification.
• Ability to lift 25–75 lbs regularly and up to >100 lbs occasionally.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and maintain a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders on scheduled routes.
• Stock, label, pick, pack, and distribute materials; conduct regular inventory checks.
• Operate forklift and pallet jack; ensure safety and compliance with DOT inspections.
• Maintain accurate vehicle documentation and professional appearance.

We are looking for an individual who takes pride in the safe loading, delivery, and handling of high-pressure and cryogenic gas cylinders while maintaining a dedicated commitment to hazardous material safety standards and DOT vehicle inspections.

• Stock, label, pick, pack, and distribute materials and supplies.
• Physically receive, check, and store delivered materials in the warehouse; conduct regular inventory checks.
• Enforce policies for proper receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, reviewing invoices.
• Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Strictly observe safety rules and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Deliver compressed gas cylinders and liquid cylinders on a scheduled route to customers.
• Load and unload trucks, retrieve empty cylinders, and return them for refilling.
• Maintain accurate vehicle documentation and a professional appearance.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Class A CDL
• Must have HAZMAT endorsement or be able to obtain the endorsement within 60 days of being hired.
• Successful completion of Airgas Background and Motor Vehicle Check.
• DOT Clearinghouse verification from previous employers is required.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in changing temperatures.
• Ability to maintain a drug-free workplace.
• Adherence to safety regulations and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience
• Touch freight delivery experience
