Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Levy division in Houston is seeking a Warehouse Attendant & Driver to receive, store, and transport food, supplies, and equipment for downtown theater venues and other events.

You will follow safety procedures, maintain inventory records, load and unload items, and support theater operations with timely logistics and accurate documentation. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, event operations, facilities, or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedules and orders to determine items to move or distribute.
  • Conveys materials from receiving to storage or other areas.
  • Places materials on racks and shelves according to product code.
  • Fills requisitions and distributes items to production workers or packing stations.
  • Assembles customer orders and prepares pallets for shipment.
  • Loads and unloads items, ensuring safe handling and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintains inventory records and follows safety procedures including HACCP standards.
  • Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

The warehouse attendant and driver (when applicable) is responsible for receiving, storing, organizing, and maintaining inventory of food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and materials. This position when needed, will deliver and pickup of items to and from downtown theater locations, ensuring accurate inventory control, safe transportation of goods, and timely support of theater operations and events. The Warehouse Attendant & Driver assist in maintainomg warehouse organization, follows established safety procedures, and provides dependable logistical support to meet operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Conveys materials from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Places materials/goods on racks, shelves and bins or in refrigerated rooms according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves; conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Uses computer to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items or to pick up items.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
  • Personal commitment to your own safety and that of others.
  • Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
    • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
    • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
    • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, event operations, facilities, or customer service preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment.
Delivery Qualifications
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to meet the organization's driving standards.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating delivery vans, box trucks, or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
  • Knowledge of downtown roadways, traffic regulations, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload food and beverage products, supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to read and follow delivery schedules, route information, and pickup instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete vehicle inspection reports, delivery logs, and other transportation‑related documentation.
  • Ability to operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment.
  • Strong customer service skills and professionalism when interacting with theater staff, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.
  • Palletjack certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to push carts and move event equipment safely.
