Qualifications

Description

JSI Cabinetry is a leading United States kitchen and bath cabinetry supplier committed to fast delivery of the highest quality cabinetry. JSI operates distribution facilities in Fall River, Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver. Our expansive footprint is leveraged to service 2,500 of the finer kitchen and bath dealers in the United States with all-wood cabinets shipped as quickly as the next day.

We currently have several opportunities available for warehouse associates including a Shipper, Receiver, and Packer.

Shipper Key Responsibilities:

  • Packing and Preparation: Accurately organize pallets of cabinets and related items according to specified guidelines for safe transportation. Ensure proper labeling and documentation for outgoing shipments.
  • Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections on the pallets of cabinets before shrink wrapping ensure they meet quality standards. Report any damages or discrepancies to shipping lead.
  • Shipping Operations: Work collaboratively with the shipping team to load cabinets onto trucks or carriers. Follow proper handling and loading procedures to ensure safe transport.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during packing and shipping activities to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with team lead and team members regarding shipping schedules and any issues encountered.

Receiver Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments of goods, verifying the accuracy of contents against shipping documents such as purchase orders, invoices, or shipping manifests
  • Inspect received goods for damages, discrepancies, or defects.
  • Document any issues and communicate them promptly to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Update inventory records and systems with received quantities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Organize received items in designated storage areas for easy access and retrieval.
  • Ensure that received goods meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Report any quality issues or concerns to the relevant departments for further investigation or action.
  • Maintain effective communication with warehouse supervisors, purchasing staff, and other team members to coordinate receiving activities and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries during receiving activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to receiving operations.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks safely and efficiently to move received goods to designated storage areas.
  • Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and free of clutter to facilitate efficient workflow and maintain a safe working environment.

Packer Key Responsibilities:

  • Packing and Inspection: Inspect finished cabinets for quality and completeness before packing. Collaborate with quality control personnel to address any issues with cabinet quality or packaging. Operate and manage the Packsize machine to create custom-sized packaging for cabinets according to specifications. Conduct regular checks on packaged cabinets to ensure they meet quality standards and are correctly labeled for shipping.
  • Organization and Inventory: Maintain an organized packing area and ensure sufficient supplies are available for packaging cabinets.
  • Quality Control: Conduct final quality checks on packed cabinets to ensure they meet company standards before shipping. Collaborate with the packing lead and quality control personnel to address any issues with cabinet quality or packaging for further inspection or corrective action.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling cabinets and packing materials. Follow proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and ensure personal safety.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in packing, warehouse, or shipping environments preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow packing instructions accurately.
  • Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Physical stamina to lift and move cabinets and packaging materials up to 49lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Experience using Packsize machine a plus.
  • Ability to lift 49lb boxes.
