Job summary
Wesco in Avondale, AZ is hiring Warehouse workers. You will learn distribution and supply chain techniques used by Fortune 250 companies and support wire cutting operations.
There are two shifts with mornings and afternoons/evenings, convenient public transit access, and a path to career growth. As a Warehouse Associate - Wire Cutter you will handle specialized wiring processes, perform material handling, and maintain safety while supporting order shipments.
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills required or preferred.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude is important.
- Basic problem-solving abilities are expected.
- Able to read a ruler and perform basic measurements.
- Basic math skills for order accuracy.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds when needed.
- Stand for extended periods and stay active.
- Willingness to operate warehouse equipment including power tools.
- Prefer knowledge of electrical, construction or mechanical products.
Responsibilities
- Operate wire respooling machinery to prepare specialized wire cuts for shipment
- Calculate wire respooling length based on desired completion footage
- Visually inspect wire for imperfections and part number accuracy
- Learn and set up stripe, twist, and etch line equipment
- Load, unload and move material safely using forklift or approved devices

- 1st Shift: Monday - Friday: 6am - 2:30pm
- 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday: 2;00 pm - 10:30 pm
This location is conveniently located near major bus routes, making it easily accessible by public transportation. Please check routes and schedules to ensure shift compatibility.

As a Warehouse Associate - Wire Cutter you will be performing specialized wire cutting applications and other value added services within the warehouse such as subsequent manufacturing and assembling ready to install products. You will be responsible for operating a cutting machine to cut, prepare and ship specialized wire, cable and related materials to our customers’ orders.
- Operate wire respooling machinery to prepare specialized wire cuts for shipment
- Calculate wire respooling length based on desired completion footage
- Visually inspect wire for imperfections and part number accuracy
- Ability to learn and set-up stripe machine, twist machine, and etch line
- Load, unload and move material in a safe manner manually or by using a forklift or other approved device

- Reach truck experience preferred
