Job summary

Patriot Rail Company is hiring for a mid-day shift position from 10am-6:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays and three weekdays, totaling five consecutive days. The role centers on staging, loading, unloading, and warehouse upkeep using material handling equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The position requires forklift experience with 2+ years preferred, ability to obtain forklift certification, and good English communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts.
• 2+ years of forklift experience in a similar industry; clamp experience preferred.
• Good oral English and written communication skills.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
• Ability to stay a team player and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Outbound and inbound inventory receiving, etc.
• Complete damage reports for products, wrapping, pallets, and crates.
• Safely prepare and load products for transport.
• Stage products for loading.
• Load products onto truck or railcar.
• Move products into warehouse inventory storage.
• Move waste and scrap into dumpsters as needed.
• Quality control for damaged products according to SOPs/JSAs.
• Operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Perform daily forklift safety checks and report issues.
• Communicate with team and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Job description

This position is for our Mid-day Shift which runs 10am-6:30pm every Saturday and Sunday and three weekdays per week resulting in 5 consecutive working days. (i.e. Wednesday-Sunday; Thursday-Monday; Friday-Tuesday; Saturday-Wednesday.)

Pay Range: $19-$24/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely and efficiently stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials through the use of material handling equipment, attachments, tools and accessories. Stock and maintain warehouse & warehouse cleanliness at all times ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Outbound and inbound inventory receiving, etc,
• Complete damage reports, product, wrapping, pallet, bundle, crate, etc.
• Safely and timely prepare and load products for transport.
• Safely and timely stage products for loading.
• Safely and timely load products onto truck, and/or railcar.
• Move products safely into warehouse inventory storage.
• Move waste & scrap into dumpsters as needed.
• Responsible for quality control - damaged products.
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
• Operate sit down forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Perform daily forklift safety checks, preventive maintenance and report any issues.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors.
• Keep clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification and applicable state certification for forklifts.
• 2+ years of forklift experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience. Clamp exp preferred.
• Good oral English and written communication skills.
