Job description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To manifest and load outbound shipments for customers and to unload and manifest inbound loads from the SAN Wet Plant. To remove or enter any needed information according to company requirements.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Unloading - Unload incoming trailers into appropriate locations. Perform 100% inspection of pallets and products during unloading. Complete manual inspection paperwork and submit RFGEN printouts indicating trailer empties and correct product placement. Make adjustments in RFGEN if necessary and document them.
2. Consolidation - Use RFGEN to manage partial pallets by consolidating and combining lot numbers.
3. Loading - Use RFGEN to select the oldest product (FEFO), verify order details with pick slips, and count pallets. Stage load for inspection.
4. Inspection & Documentation - Inspect loads thoroughly, print BOL and packing slips, apply customer labels, and ensure correct loading pattern per customer specifications. Secure loads with airbags, straps, and load bars.
5. Labeling & Data Entry - Label pallets for scanning, verify paperwork accuracy, and enter relevant data into the system for billing and tracking.
6. Trailer & Pallet Verification - Check inbound and outbound trailers, verify pallet counts, case weights, and dates before loading onto trucks.
7. Equipment & Safety - Assist with wrapping machine operation, perform 100% inspection for pests and damages, and use PPE as required.
8. Team Participation & System Familiarity - Participate in team activities, understand Simmons' operating systems, and support quality and security policies.
9. Additional Duties - Support other business objectives as needed, including physical activities like lifting up to 55 pounds, working in temperature extremes, and climbing stairs/ladders.
