Job summary

Worksource Oregon in NW Portland seeks a night-shift picker to move and organize materials according to production and shipping orders.

You will read schedules, locate items, and prepare orders for packing, while maintaining safety and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse.

Candidates should be at least 18, have 3 months warehouse experience, basic math, and be able to pass background and drug checks.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly line.
• Pick and assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or convey orders to packing station or shipping department and prepare for shipping.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards. Assists in billing process.
• Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers by location.
• Use computer to enter records.
• Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specification

Worksource Oregon is working with an employer in NW Portland to fill a Picker position for the night shift.

REQUIREMENTS

• 18 years old
• 3 months experience working in a warehouse or similar environment
• Basic math aptitude
• Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail
• Safety minded
• Reliable and solid work ethic
• Comfortable working night time hours
• Employer will perform background and drug check

PREFERENCES

• High School Diploma/GED
• 6 months experience working in a warehouse or similar environment
• Experience with driving a forklift and/or pallet jack (material handling equipment)

HOURS

• Full time - 40 hours plus some overtime
• Night shift - Sunday-Thursday - 6pm-2am or until work is complete.
