Warehouse Associate at Local Farm Food Distributor

The Common Market is a nonprofit distributor of local foods, dedicated to connecting regional farms with communities in need. We strive to strengthen local agriculture by making healthy, sustainable food accessible to schools, hospitals, and other institutions.

Position Overview: As a Warehouse Associate, you will manage the daily operations of our warehouse, including receiving, sorting, packing, and shipping products sourced from local farms. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure our customers receive the freshest produce and goods.

Schedule: 7AM-3PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality
• Pick and pack orders accurately for shipments
• Maintain inventory levels, ensuring proper storage and rotation
• Follow safety and hygiene regulations
• Load and unload delivery trucks
• Keep the warehouse organized, clean, and safe
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes

Requirements:

• Certified Forklift Operator
• Experience in food distribution warehouse settings
• Order picking and packing experience
• Receiving and quality control skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
