Position Summary:

Join our exciting & dedicated team at Vallen as a Storeroom Warehouse Associate. In this position, you will be working at a customer's location and will be responsible for following established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, stock and store, record, and dispatch goods in a storeroom/warehouse.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Complete shipments by processing and loading orders; read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  2. Unload, receive and put away incoming goods and merchandise; unpack bales, crates, and other containers; check for damage and discrepancies; install strapping, bracing, or padding as needed.
  3. Sort, label, move, and store goods and merchandise; place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, style, or product codes; optimize warehouse space; follow work orders or verbal instructions.
  4. Weigh or count items for distribution; ensure conformance to standards.
  5. Prepare, pick, pack, and dispatch outgoing goods; use pick sheets; verify product and quantity accuracy.
  6. Load trucks for delivery; install strapping or padding; check for damage and discrepancies.
  7. Consolidate freight; verify shipping method; handle oversize loads; maintain shipping routes.
  8. Enter data into systems; respond to inquiries; document discrepancies and seek management advice.
  9. Operate warehouse equipment as needed.
  10. Assist in inventory maintenance and counts.
  11. Follow safety regulations.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ months relevant experience or training. Experience with loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods; forklift experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, and manuals. Basic computer skills; familiarity with MS-Office, Vista, Control, SX.e, Prophet 21 preferred. Basic math skills; ability to compile reports and work in a team. Attention to detail and safety-mindedness.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Work may occur in non-temperature-controlled environments; ability to work in hot/cold, dusty conditions; handle hazardous materials; pass forklift certifications; work shifts may vary; overtime may be required; lift up to 25 lbs or more; stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance; good vision required.
