Job summary

Atlanta Community Food Bank, in-office daily at our East Point location, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our team. You will handle receiving, picking, order fulfillment and lift truck operation, while maintaining a clean, safe workspace and following FIFO procedures.

Work includes staging ambient, refrigerated and freezer inventory, using the Warehouse Management System, recording counts, and ensuring proper storage temperatures.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in varying temperature environments.
• Must have good oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to operate standup forklifts and electric pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, pick, and fulfill orders using WMS.
• Ensure accurate inventory in ambient, refrigerated and freezer areas.
• Record product counts, weights, and measurements accurately.
• Maintain FIFO and proper documentation of movements.
• Uphold food safety and housekeeping standards.

This position is in-office every day at our East Point locations and must be available to work weekend and flexible hours, as needed. Who We Are: The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. About the Role: Warehouse Associates are responsible for receiving, picking, order fulfillment, and lift truck operation. They must provide effective and safe operation of all warehouse equipment, as well as maintain a clean, safe work environment. Warehouse Associates contribute additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate by Food Bank management.

What You’ll Do: Warehousing

• Ensures accurate warehouse inventory in all staging and storage areas, including Ambient, Refrigerated and Freezer locations
• Utilizes Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product placement and/or picking in the Ambient, Refrigerated, and/or Freezer areas
• Verifies and accurately records product counts, weight, or other measurement units on all product being received, stored, picked, or fulfilled
• Ensures all physical product movements are appropriately recorded in electronic WWMS and/or other tracking system(s) and documentation
• Properly utilizes First in First out (FIFO) procedures
  

Food & Warehouse Safety

• Maintains Food Safety and Housekeeping requirements in all warehouse operations
• Ensures proper storage temperatures and conditions are maintained, tracked and recorded
• Keeps all floor areas organized, free of debris, water or other potential contaminants or hazards
• Follows Personnel Safety procedures
• Inspects warehouse equipment for proper and safe operation prior to using
• Wears and utilizes all required PPE and safety equipment / tools
• Performs other duties as assigned
