The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost-efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner.
This is an entry-level position where the employee will be responsible for ordering vehicle and equipment parts, looking up parts using existing software and online resources, picking up parts from vendors, and returning invoices/receipts for documentation. Duties include lifting, loading, unloading parts, and some climbing. Knowledge of automotive and equipment vendors' parts houses is preferred but not required. Responsibilities also include routine storekeeping duties such as receiving and unpacking inventory, verifying quality and quantity received, and referring issues regarding non-conformance to higher-level staff. The position may also involve listing, pulling, packaging, and delivering goods.
