Job summary

American Tire Distributors is seeking a Warehouse I to support order fulfillment and inventory control at our Huntsville, AL facility. You will operate warehousing equipment, assist with administrative tasks, and help ensure accurate stock levels and timely deliveries.

The role requires lifting up to 150 pounds, safe handling of forklifts and related devices, and adherence to safety policies. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School or GED degree; 0–1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assist in loading and unloading; data entry of product numbers; use hand-held devices.
• Assist in administrative tasks such as paperwork handling and warehouse closing procedures.
• Compile and submit reports on damaged, outdated stock, over/under shipments, and returns to vendors; segregate defective items from regular inventory flow.
• Data entry of product number; use of hand-held devices and product placement for inventory accuracy.
• Load and unload delivery trucks; handle tires and heavier items with rolling, destacking or team lifting.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers) safely; maintain licenses.
• Organize warehouse stock by product line and space; ensure adequate room for overflow.
• Perform routine facility maintenance and housekeeping; clean areas and restrooms; keep floors clear.
• Prioritize and pick materials for order fulfillment; stage for loading.
• Verify accuracy of incoming/outgoing products regarding quantity, size and type; report shortages.
