Job summary

Grainger's Distribution Center in Minooka, IL is hiring a Warehouse Associate for full-time night shifts. The role supports inbound/outbound tasks, picking, packing, staging, and maintaining a safe work environment. You report to a DC Supervisor and collaborate with fellow team members.

Starting pay is $21.75/hour with raises to $24.95/hour including PIE and overnight premiums. Benefits start day one, with PTO, holidays, and a 6% 401(k) company contribution.

Qualifications

• Comfortable standing and handling heavy packages in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload, sort, label, replenish, pick and pack products with attention to detail.
• Ensure correct shipment to meet customer expectations for quality and speed.
• Maintain safety, quality, productivity, and attendance standards; wear proper PPE.
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership.

Compensation

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $21.75/hour [with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $22.95/hour]

• + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators**
• + $1/hour for working overnight shift

The Distribution Center Associate performs warehouse responsibilities and functions to support inventory integrity, order processing – picking, packing, staging, shipping, general maintenance and housekeeping responsibilities to guarantee a safe and clean work environment. Ensure compliance with safety requirements by performing inspections and maintenance. You will role report directly to a DC Supervisor or Process Manager and have regular interaction with other DC Associates.

You Will

• Safely complete inbound and/or outbound warehouse tasks with strong attention to detail. For example, unloading, sorting, labeling, replenishing, auditing, picking and packing products
• Ensure products are shipped correctly to exceed customers' expectations for quality and delivery speed
• Meet safety, quality, productivity, behavior, attendance, and overtime requirements as needed
• Operate computerized scanning equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and Hazardous
• Material requirements Perform other tasks as directed by leadership

You Have

• Comfort working on your feet with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and dust while working around moving equipment and elevated stations
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to frequently lift, slide and lower packages up to 75 pounds
• Ability to receive feedback and work well in a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• **For PIE operators: ability to operate warehouse vehicles, material handling equipment and powered industrial equipment, including Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, Turret Truck and Forklift

Preferred Qualifications

• 18+ months previous warehouse, retail, or customer service experience in fast-paced environments.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations.
• Great attention to detail, quality, and safety.
