Warehouse Associate (Fort Worth or Kansas City)

Summary: Working at SLWM distribution center, reporting to Warehouse Lead, Supervisor, or Site Director, and collaborating with a team of approximately 30-50 teammates, this individual will perform duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in products, and matching products to sales orders.
  • Read delivery tickets or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for customers and employees.
  • Assemble client orders from stock, place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
  • Open skids, crates, and containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via computer programs.
  • Assist in counting physical inventory.
  • Weigh and count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • May perform facilities maintenance duties as needed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to clients or businesses safely and timely.
  • Load and unload items from vehicles.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules.
  • Adhere to transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Prepare reports and documents related to deliveries.
  • Operate equipment such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Sweep, dust, and mop work areas.
  • Organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Wear proper safety equipment and maintain professional conduct.
  • Follow company policies and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of warehouse and shipping experience; 1-2 years forklift experience with fall protection and material handling equipment.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, and operate warehouse equipment.
