Job description

Operation Blessing (OB) is looking for a Warehouse Associate / Driver to provide effective shipping, receiving, inventory control and warehousing support to Operation Blessing’s distribution center in Chesapeake, VA. This professional will also coordinate and facilitate product distribution to local ministry partners.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications :

  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems
  • Knowledge of DOT Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
  • Working knowledge of trailer product placement in accordance with Federal Bridge laws
  • Working knowledge of DOT 11 hour / 14 hour / 70 hour drive / work rule within 6 months of employment
  • Skilled in hooking and unhooking tractor-trailer combination units
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and industry standard inventory software applications
  • Ability to sit, stand and / or walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift 50+ pounds on a consistent basis
  • Ability to perform DOT compliant vehicle inspections within 6 months of employment
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with ability to handle stress and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to maintain satisfactory driving record
  • Valid “Class A” CDL Permit with CDL-A license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
