Job summary

Atlantic Plywood Corporation is seeking a Hybrid Warehouse Associate / CDL Driver to support both warehouse operations and delivery services for our Eastern U.S. customer base.

You will alternate between picking, packing, staging, inventory control, and safe, on‑time deliveries using a Class A/B CDL. You’ll work with operations, dispatch, and customer service to maintain accurate records, ensure DOT compliance, and uphold safety standards while contributing to on‑time in‑full service and

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Valid CDL Class A (or B) license in good standing with an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

  • Execute picking, packing, staging, and shipping with high accuracy.
  • Unload, label, receive, and put‑away inbound materials.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist inventory accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
  • Safely operate CDL vehicles to deliver to customer locations.
  • Ensure load securement with straps, chains, and binders.
  • Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip DOT inspections.
  • Provide excellent customer service and on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain delivery logs and compliance records.
  • Transition between warehouse and driving as needed.
  • Support branch operations during driver shortages and peak times.
  • Collaborate with teams to meet delivery commitments.
  • Contribute to reducing delays and manual work.

The Hybrid Warehouse Associate / CDL Driver is a cross-functional, high-impact role that blends warehouse operations with commercial driving responsibilities to ensure seamless service to our customers. This position plays a critical role in maintaining branch continuity by flexing between order fulfillment, inventory management, and delivery execution based on daily operational demands. What You’ll Do
  • Execute picking, packing, staging, and shipping of customer orders with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform unloading, labeling, receiving, and put‑away of inbound materials to maintain smooth warehouse flow
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory processes to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in all warehouse functions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused warehouse environment
  • Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CDL required) to deliver materials to customer locations
  • Ensure proper load securement using straps, chains, and binders while protecting materials during transit
  • Conduct pre‑trip, in‑route, and post‑trip inspections in full compliance with DOT regulations
  • Complete deliveries on time while providing a high level of customer service and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate logs, delivery documentation, and compliance records
  • Transition seamlessly between warehouse and driving responsibilities based on operational needs
  • Support branch operations during driver shortages, peak volumes, and operational disruptions
  • Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to meet delivery and service commitments
  • Contribute to improving operational efficiency and reducing delays and manual work
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
  • Valid CDL Class A (or B, based on fleet) license in good standing with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling processes
  • Understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and safe driving practices
  • Proficiency in forklift operation and material handling equipment
  • Ability to execute commercial driving routes and delivery schedules effectively
  • Basic math skills and attention to detail for inventory accuracy and order fulfillment
  • Ability to complete documentation and maintain compliance records accurately
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a customer‑focused mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety procedures, and delivery documentation
  • Ability to quickly adapt and shift priorities based on operational demands
  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift between 50–90 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to perform physically demanding warehouse and delivery tasks
  • Ability to work in both indoor warehouse environments and outdoor conditions
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and vehicles in a safety‑sensitive environment
Pre‑Employment Requirements
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in lumber or building materials distribution
  • Forklift certification and hands‑on warehouse equipment experience
  • Flatbed delivery experience with strong load securement knowledge
  • Prior experience balancing both warehouse and driving responsibilities in a distribution environment
