Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a full-time warehouse/delivery associate in the Oakland, CA area. The role involves safe transportation of materials between Diversified warehouses and client sites, as well as day-to-day warehouse operations and inventory control.

A service-oriented approach and cross-department collaboration are essential. You will handle unloading, data entry, RF/scan gun usage, and adherence to safety policies while supporting project teams locally and globally.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Must pass drug screening.
• Meet applicable DOT requirements (physical).
• Ability to maintain accurate trip, inspection, and HOS logs.
• Ability to safely handle a 26’ box truck in the Bay Area.
• Strong organizational skills for loading/unloading.
• Ability to follow GPS driving instructions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products and materials to job sites and between buildings.
• Process outbound shipping promptly per project specs and inventory control; ensure docs and data entry are complete before release.
• Maintain a safe, clean warehouse; break down boxes, store pallets, follow procedures and inventory controls.
• Unload and receive deliveries; log all incoming packages; qualify equipment/materials and store per layout.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials using RF/Scan Gun.
• Perform computer functions to track goods.
• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items; process returns.
• Weigh and label outbound shipments; suggest cost-effective shipping methods; notify staff and project teams of couriers.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.

Job description

This full-time (40hr./wk.) position is responsible for the safe and timely
transportation and delivery of equipment and materials as needed between
Diversified warehouses and client job sites. Additionally, this position is
responsible for the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. This position is
accountable for the warehouse's inventory accuracy, organization, and
control of incoming shipments, as well as the timely, properly documented
execution of outgoing shipments, including RMAs. The position entails a
service-oriented approach; proactively supporting local and global project
teams with all warehouse activities is required, as well as the ability to
collaborate and communicate with a variety of other departments and
warehouses.

Primary functions

• 1) This position is required to deliver products and materials to job sites and
  between buildings.
• 2) Ensure that outbound shipping requests are processed in a timely manner
  and in accordance with project specifications, as well as Diversified
  shipping and inventory control procedures. Confirm all documentation and
  data entry is complete and accurate before releasing the shipment.
• 3) Maintain a safe and clean warehouse facility: breakdown boxes and control
  waste; store shipping pallets and other warehouse materials and equipment;
  follow procedures and inventory control processes; comply with safety
  policies.
• 4) Unload and receive deliveries: process receipt and/or electronically log all
  incoming packages, based on disposition. Qualify equipment/materials and
  store according to warehouse layout and project specifications.
• 5) Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies utilizing RF/ Scan
  Gun
• 6) Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• 7) Unpacks, examines, and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items,
  records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and
  shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for
  replacement or credit.
• 8) Weigh, and label outbound shipments, including small package and freight
  shipments. Recommend cost-effective shipping procedures to staff
  members. Call for couriers in response to staff requests and notify
  appropriate project teams when incoming courier correspondence is
  received.
• 9) Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department
  supervisor

Education & Certifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.

Requirements:
