The Warehouse Associate manages daily operations, including receiving, storing, and selecting products for customer orders. Responsibilities include inspecting shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, processing returns, and ensuring a safe, organized workspace. This role operates material-handling equipment and may assist with deliveries as needed. Basic computer skills are required, with preference for experience in inventory management and equipment operation.
Warehouse Duties :
- Accurately pulling / picking orders from pick tickets.
- Quickly and accurately receive, process and stores incoming product shipments.
- Ensure shipments are inspected and that any damage or shortages are documented. Initiate freight claim procedure when necessary.
- Check incoming delivery contents against packing list to verify accurate and full delivery.
- Prepare receiving reports and note any shortages, damages, or overages, and report any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Verify vendor part number and Johnstone stock number for all incoming products. Determine proper bin number and / or location of incoming products. Stores incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
- Select products from inventory to fill customer orders.
- Adhere to standards to prepare, pack, scan, and stage products for inter-store transfer and customer pick-up and delivery.
- Process documentation necessary to ship inter-store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests and other necessary documents.
- Processes customer returns in accordance with company policy.
- Verify that warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out. Initiate warranty return process, and stage product in warranty area.
- Perform periodic cycle counting, maintain accurate records of inventory, and report discrepancies.
- Ensure safety by maintaining cleanliness and hazard-free environment of warehouse, and report observed unsafe conditions to management.
- Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures. Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Comply with safety and protective equipment policies and procedures.
- Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications.
- May drive delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations when needed as back-up.
Required :
- Valid REAL ID or passport
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred :
- Skills in operation of heavy equipment. (e.g., forklift, pallet jack, and order picker)
- Skills in operations of delivery vehicles (e.g., vans, box trucks up to 26 feet)
- Experience with computer or barcode driven inventory management systems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment :
- Ability to lift to 75 pounds climb and balance on ladders and equipment; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and reach, push, pull and manipulate.
- Most work is performed in a warehouse environment without air conditioning, which may include hot and cold temperatures, dust, dirt, and noise.
