Compensation:

This position is hourly. Pay starts at $20/hour, with three raises in 12 months bringing your pay to $21.20/hour.

  • + $1/hour for powered industrial equipment (PIE) operators.

You Will

Primary Function:

Performs tasks related to receipt, storage, and shipment of products, meeting productivity, quality, safety, behavioral, and attendance expectations. Uses established procedures, tools, equipment, and technologies to complete inbound and outbound transactions within a distribution center.

  • Safely perform assigned warehouse functions utilizing established processes, procedures, and tools while meeting performance expectations for productivity, quality, safety, and attendance.
  • Functions may include unloading, put-away, sorting, labeling, picking, packing, replenishing, auditing, shipping, and making boxes.
  • Complies with Grainger policies, guidelines, procedures, and regulations, including OSHA and hazardous material handling requirements.
  • Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Participates in process improvements using Grainger’s quality system.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Must tolerate environments with heat, cold, noise, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Meet productivity, quality, safety, and attendance requirements, including overtime.
  • Lift continuously up to 75 pounds and operate warehouse vehicles and material handling equipment.
  • Operate PIE equipment such as Crown, Pacer, Reach Truck, Order Picker, Barrett, and Turret Truck.
  • Work at various elevated stations in the DC.
  • Operate computerized scanning equipment.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
You Have

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • At least 6-12 months of warehouse or related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment: This position reports directly to a Distribution Center Supervisor and/or Process Manager, with regular interaction with other associates.

Impact: The efficiency and effectiveness of this position directly affect customer satisfaction and profitability. The role must operate in compliance with OSHA and hazardous materials guidelines.
