Job summary

Staples is seeking a Warehouse Associate (Breakpack MHE-Cherry Picker) for full-time daytime hours. The role involves operating material handling equipment, selecting orders, unloading trucks and maintaining safe pick locations.

Training is provided for equipment operation and safety procedures are emphasized. The position requires ability to meet physical demands, pass a background check, and work in a hot environment during summer.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to 100 pounds by hand.
• Work at heights up to 8-9 feet, up to 30 feet at times.
• Pass a background check and drug screen.
• Basic English language, reading and writing skills; basic math and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Select orders by pulling, stacking and labeling merchandise and bring them to the staging area.
• Unload trucks and put away product in the correct overstock location.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turret or electric pallet jack (training provided).
• Inspect equipment and complete safety inspection sheet before operation.
• Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Associate (Breakpack MHE-Cherry Picker) - Full-Time Days
Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
$18.65/hour

As a Warehouse Breakpack MHE you will help the distribution center meet its goals by operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turret or electric pallet jack to move product within the warehouse (training provided).
Play an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win:

• An ability to be MHEO certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipment
• Select orders by pulling, stacking and labeling merchandise and bring them to the staging area
• Maintain pick locations by cutting product open and placing it in primary picking locations and break down pallets of returned merchandise
• Unload trucks and put away product in the correct overstock location
• Inspect all equipment and complete safety inspection sheet before operation
• Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety culture
• Ability to work in hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer and able to work with seasonal temperature variations
• Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned
  

Essential Skills And Experience

• Able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am- 3:30 pm
• Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 100 pounds by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet but up to 30 feet at times
• Perform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders and crouch
• Able to work with moderate noise level and operate warehouse equipment
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
• Demonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need
• Basic English language, reading and writing skills; basic math and data entry
• Pass a background check and drug screen
