Job summary

Staples is hiring a Warehouse Associate (Breakpack) for part-time days in Terre Haute, IN. You will select product, pack totes, and stock merchandise while meeting daily goals. Training provided over 3–8 weeks to help you succeed.

Shifts run Tuesday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with exposure to warm environments and a safety-focused culture. The job offers weekly pay and benefits as part of Staples' team-oriented supply chain.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Basic English reading and writing; basic math and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and prep merchandise, stock product, and move full totes and cases onto conveyor belt.
• Meet daily production goals.
• Stack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets high.
• Use a pallet pulling hook to retrieve stuck pallets of product.
• Operate tools and equipment such as RF scanners, computer terminal, Pick to Voice/Pick to Cart technology.
• Assist in other departments as assigned.

Warehouse Associate (Breakpack) - Part-Time Days

Tuesday-Thursday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
$17.90/hour

As a Warehouse Order Picker(Breakpack), you’ll help the distribution center meet its goals by selecting product, packing totes, cutting cases of merchandise and stocking product. To help you be successful, you’ll also receive three to eight weeks of on-the-job training.

Play an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win:

• Retrieve and prep merchandise, stock product, and move full totes and cases onto conveyor belt
• Meet daily production goals
• Stack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets high
• Use pallet pulling hook to retrieve stuck pallets of product with a force of 50 lbs
• Use tools and equipment such as: computer terminal, writing instruments, RF Scanners, Pick to Voice technology, Pick to Cart technology or other methods, depending in specific facility, cutting knife, wheeled cart, U boat, portable ladder, apron, and others as required
• Ability to work in hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer and able to work with seasonal temperature variations
• Assist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assigned

Essential skills and experience:

• Ability to work a schedule of Tuesday through Thursday 7:00 am-3:30 pm
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 70 lbs. by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet but up to 30 feet at times, and around a conveyor belt system
• Perform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders and crouch
• Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety culture
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
• Able to work with moderate noise level and operate warehouse equipment
• Demonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need
• Basic English language, reading and writing skills; basic math and data entry
• Detail oriented, ability to follow directions and collaborative with other team members
• Pass a background check and drug screen
