Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Backup Local Delivery Driver in Iron Mountain, MI. You will safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders for our customers while adhering to safety standards. Applicants must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License and at least one year of professional driving experience.

Warehouse Associate/Backup Local Delivery Driver (Open)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick‑ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt; collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations (DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, OSHA).
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Valid Medical Examiner’s Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
• One (1) year of prior Class B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record, including no more than two (2) convictions, or two (2) at‑fault accidents in the last three years; or no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at‑fault accident in the last three years.
• Alternative: a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25–75 lbs.; occasionally lift 76–125 lbs. with material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending required.
• Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must have forklift operator certification.
