Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver in California. You will operate a forklift, handle heavy materials, and manage pallets and inventory with RF scanners and a Warehouse Management System.

The role includes loading/unloading for deliveries and maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years in warehousing, forklift experience, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including moving water heaters and other warehouse materials.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
• Manually move, position, load, and unload water heaters and other materials.
• Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
• Use RF scanners and/or WMS to manage inventory and warehouse operations.
• Receive, verify, stage and stock incoming material accurately and promptly.
• Keep workspace clean, safe, and accident-free.

Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver!

Position Details

Schedule | Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime and 24/7/365 on-call availability as needed to support business operations, including after-hours, weekends, and potentially holidays. Pay Rate | Starting at $25/hour and may be higher based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to pull and prepare outbound customer orders.
• Perform physically demanding work, including manually moving, positioning, loading, and unloading water heaters and other warehouse materials.
• Build, wrap, sort, and transport pallets and packages.
• Utilize RF scanners and/or Warehouse Management Systems to manage inventory and warehouse operations.
• Accurately and timely receive, verify, stage and stock all incoming material.
• Clean the workspace as you go and participate with the team in keeping our facility clean, safe, and accident free.

Delivery Truck Driver Responsibilities

• Deliver materials to the customer, which includes assistance with loading and unloading and ensuring delivery of ticket with material
• Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor

Qualifications

• Have a high school diploma/GED or equivalent education.
• 1-3 years of warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, delivery, or inventory management is required.
• Forklift experience is required.
• High attention to detail.
• Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Positive demeanor, dependability, and strong work ethic.
• Self-starter with ability to learn our systems quickly.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including manually moving, positioning, loading, and unloading water heaters and other warehouse materials.
• Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks, lifting, bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Delivery Truck Driver Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a Valid Drivers license
• Follow all DOT standards and regulations

Pay Range

$21.76 - $32.64

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
