Description

S&S Tire of Lexington, KY a leading multi-location regional wholesale tire dealer is seeking to add a Warehouse Associate/Backup Driver to the team. This position requires manual labor, lifting tires up to 150 lbs. If you are ready to tackle this challenge, you need to apply today!

Duties performed in this position include, but are not limited to:

Warehouse Receiver tasks

• Loads, unloads, checks, and tallies tires to and from carriers [trailer trucks]
• Selects, packs, counts, marks, and palletizes tires of customer orders, and places them in the assigned staging areas according to the bin locator system.
• Checks and verifies the accuracy of selecting, packing, weighing, marking, and counting of tires for customer orders.
• May Operates order picker, pallet jacks, and other equipment in the execution of duties.
• Ensures safety guidelines are met in operating the equipment.
• Performs required counting, tallying, and marking on related inventory control documents.
• Participates in cycle and/or annual physical inventories.
• Ensures safety guidelines are met by the proper palletizing, re-palletizing, and restacking of tires.
• Maintain compliance with procedures and policies

Driver Tasks

• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
• Safely operate 16' to 28' box trucks for delivery of products.
• Makes collections from customers for merchandise delivered on a Cash on Delivery basis.
• Makes a list of prospective customers along the designated route to supply the Store Manager with sales follow-up information.
• Ensures good mechanical operation of the vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections at the beginning of each work-day and immediately report operating problems or mechanical defects to the Warehouse Manager or designee.
• Completes all driver and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested

• Compensation starting at $16.50/per hour, based on experience. Increase after completion of on-the-job training.
• Full-time position with weekly pay, offering frequent overtime
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4 am - 1 pm.

Requirements

• Must have the desire and ability to work in a warehouse environment
• Must be able to lift and/or move tires with or without mechanical assistance
• Frequent bending, twisting and lifting
• Must be willing, and have the ability to, to operate all warehouse related equipment
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience
• Good safety record (no more than 3 violations in the last 3 years)
• Valid driver's license - in good standing
• Forklift license is a plus, but not required
• Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service-oriented environment
