Job description

Primex Clinical Laboratories is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate & Backup Medical Courier to support our operations team in ensuring seamless logistics and timely medical deliveries. Since 1996, Primex has been a trusted name in diagnostics, proudly serving communities across California, Nevada, and American Samoa. This role is vital to maintaining the flow of critical supplies, organizing internal inventory, and supporting occasional medical courier responsibilities.

This is a hands-on, on-site position ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable with physical work, and willing to drive long distances when needed. Flexibility, reliability, and a strong team spirit are essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment.
  • Pull and stage medical supplies accurately for delivery or internal use.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming result mail and inventory shipments.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and update supply tracking systems.
  • Answer warehouse phone lines and assist with logistical inquiries.
  • Operate a forklift to load / unload deliveries and manage stock (valid forklift license required).
  • Serve as a backup driver for scheduled or last-minute medical supply deliveries, including STAT (urgent) pickups.
  • Coordinate closely with internal departments to fulfill time-sensitive delivery requests.
  • Use personal vehicle for deliveries as needed (mileage reimbursement may apply).
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ensure secure handling and timely transport of medical materials in accordance with safety standards.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or delivery roles preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical or laboratory environments is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Valid forklift certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable using communication tools (e.g., phone, email) and basic inventory software.
  • Ability to safely lift and move moderate to heavy materials.

Soft Skills

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with open availability.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related deliveries as needed (must maintain appropriate insurance; reimbursement policy applies).
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced medical logistics setting.
  • Must follow all company safety protocols and comply with HIPAA standards when handling any patient-related materials (training provided).

This position requires physical activity including lifting, standing, and driving for extended periods. The role operates primarily in a warehouse environment with regular travel outside the facility for deliveries.
