Cardinal Health in Charlotte, NC is hiring for a Warehouse Associate role with pay at $18.70 per hour (shift differential). This position involves order picking, packing, loading, and operating material handling equipment in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, using the Warehouse Management System, and maintaining safety standards. Overtime is required; hours are Monday–Friday with a 1:00 PM start until work is completed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of warehouse experience preferred.
• Basic proficiency in English, reading and writing.
• RF scanner/voice-pick experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stay on shift for 8+ hours.

• Follow SOPs to process orders, including picking, quality checks, packing, and loading.
• Cross-train in multiple warehouse areas and assist with projects.
• Use WMS to check in/out products and operate material handling equipment.

What Warehouse Operations Contributes To Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to process orders including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building, and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.
• Pick large case items with material handling equipment or pick small unit of measure items and place on designated cart.
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed.
• Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and/or send out products.
• Drive material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility may include order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.
• Complete housekeeping and inventory control tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Work on routine assignments that require problem resolution.
• Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
• Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures set by the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1 - 2 years related warehouse experience preferred
• Basic proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read and write in English
• Previous material handling experience preferred
• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred
• Ability to consistently lift 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required
• Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice
• Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse
• Ability to work at heights up to 25 feet consistently
• Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
• Aptitude to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards
