Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support receiving, storage, and shipment of products. You will follow SOPs, perform picking, packing, and palletizing, and use the Warehouse Management System to track orders.

The shift runs Monday–Friday starting at 1:00 PM, with overtime as needed to complete work. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years’ warehouse experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 - 2 years related warehouse experience preferred.
• Basic proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read and write in English.
• Previous material handling experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience highly preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours; overtime may be required.
• Willingness to operate material handling equipment and rotate areas.
• Safety PPE rules including steel-toed shoes and fall protection.
• Ability to work at heights up to 25 feet.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs to process orders including picking, quality checks, packing, and preparing shipments.
• Pick large items with equipment or small items onto carts.
• Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects.
• Use WMS to check in and out products.
• Operate material handling equipment as required (forklift, order picker, etc.).
• Maintain housekeeping and inventory control; keep a clean, safe workspace.
• Handle routine tasks with some problem resolution.
• Participate in associate meetings and communicate concerns to management.
• Perform duties per OSHA standards and all Cardinal Health policies.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to process orders including accurately picking, performing quality control checks, sorting, consolidating freight, building, and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing orders for shipment.

• Pick large case items with material handling equipment or pick small unit of measure items and place on designated cart.

• Cross-train in multiple areas of the warehouse and participate in projects as needed.

• Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to check in and/or send out products.

• Drive material handling equipment as required by job duty. Example equipment in the facility may include order picker (cherry picker), forklift, reach truck, turret truck, pallet jack, and walkie rider.

• Complete housekeeping and inventory control tasks and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Work on routine assignments that require problem resolution.

• Participate in associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.

• Perform all job duties in accordance with OSHA standards and adhere to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures set by the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• 1 - 2 years related warehouse experience preferred

• Basic proficiency in English is required, including the ability to read and write in English

• Previous material handling experience preferred

• Radio frequency (RF) scanner and/or voice to pick experience highly preferred

• Ability to consistently lift 50 Ibs and be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift of 8 hours or more required

• Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice

• Willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment and rotate into various areas of the warehouse

• Ability to work at heights up to 25 feet consistently

• Adherence to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.

• Aptitude to work in a fast paced distribution environment while meeting hourly established distribution quotas and performance standards
