Job summary

The McPherson Companies is seeking a Warehouse Associate for the 2nd shift to support daily operations, prepare shipments, and load/unload trucks. The role requires forklift certification and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Candidates must be able to work Sundays through Thursdays with potential day or night shifts and stay compliant with safety procedures. As part of a fast-paced environment, you will collaborate with Operations staff, dispatchers, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently.
• Forklift certification test ability.
• Willing to work day or night shift.
• Knowledge of safety and quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with Lead Warehouse person to ensure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package, and bulk trucks for next day’s orders.
• Follow proper SOP for loading, unloading, and flushing trucks/trailers.
• Pull and stage/load the next day’s orders using the WMS to locate and pull products accurately.
• Operate a vehicle on McPherson’s site(s) in a manner compliant with company policy and procedure and compliant with DOT.
• Perform drumming requirements and other repackaging products within company guidelines to meet customer’s needs, as necessary.
• Participate in shift opening meetings and contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
• Prepare, complete, and submit required paperwork by the end of each shift.
• Communicate with all Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, Fleet Maintenance Manager, and assist them as required.
• Operate stock management tools; for example, a forklift, pallet jack etc.
• Perform cycle counts and keep inventory records as necessary.
• Help maintain a clean and safe facility. Report any accidents, spills, or other problems to the manager immediately.
• Ensure the facility is properly shut down, including locking all doors and gates at the end of the shift.
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned by management.

To perform all warehouse functions including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, driving, and assisting Operations Personnel. The regular schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 pm to 12:00 am (Or when work is completed). However, the candidate must be open and flexible for day or night shift; Sunday through Saturday.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Lead Warehouse person to ensure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package, and bulk trucks for next business day’s orders (The evening shift employees’ first priority will be preparing orders for the next day including loading and unloading trucks.)
• Follow proper SOP for loading, unloading, and flushing trucks/trailers.

• Operate a vehicle on McPherson’s site(s) in a manner compliant with company policy and procedure and compliant with DOT.

Position Requirements:

• Previous filling/packaging warehouse experience.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and to understand traffic signs, to make entries on reports and records.
• Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while performing multiple duties and tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
• Ability to follow company safety and quality procedures and guidelines consistently.
• Proven ability to complete position responsibilities within the allotted timeframe.
• Produces a caliber of work consistent with departmental operating standards.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently.
• Effectively represents the company and is responsive to the needs of internal/external customers.
• Working knowledge of WHS and handheld technology.

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
