Job summary

McPherson Companies, Inc. in Reserve, LA seeks a Warehouse Associate to perform all warehouse functions including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, and assisting Operations personnel.

You will unload and load product, pull and stage orders, operate forklifts and pallet jacks, ensure safety and compliance with DOT and company policy, and help maintain a clean, organized facility. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers.
• Knowledge of cargo securing in commercial vehicles.
• Ability to complete forklift certification test.

Responsibilities

• Work with Warehouse management to assure uninterruptible supply for customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package and bulk trucks for next day’s orders in compliance with policy and regulations.
• Pull and stage next day’s orders for bulk and package drivers.
• Engage in proper loading, unloading and flushing procedures.
• Deliver products following warehouse management and delivery ticket instructions (if eligible for Driver).
• Operate a vehicle on and off customer sites in compliance with policy and DOT (if eligible for Driver).
• Perform drumming and repackaging to meet customer needs within guidelines.
• Unload Rail Cars as required per guidelines.
• Prepare and submit paperwork required by MOP in a timely manner.
• Communicate with Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, Fleet Maintenance Manager as required.
• Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Complete special projects or other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure facility is properly shut down and doors/gates locked at end of shift.

Job description

General Summary:

To perform all warehouse functions including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, driving, and assisting Operations Personnel.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Warehouse management to assure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.


• Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package and bulk trucks for next business day’s orders in a manner compliant with company policy and local, state and federal regulations.


• Pull and stage next day’s orders for bulk and package drivers


• Engage in proper loading, unloading and flushing procedures.


• Deliver products by following instructions from warehouse management and the instructions on the delivery ticket when required (if eligible for Driver).


• Operate a vehicle on and off customer sites in a manner compliant with company policy and procedure and compliant with DOT (if eligible for Driver).


• Perform drumming requirements and other repackaging products within company guidelines to meet customers' needs, as necessary.


• Unload Rail Cars as required per company guidelines.


• Check with Operations Management for instructions at the beginning of each shift.


• Prepare, complete and submit, in a timely manner, the paperwork required by MOP


• Communicate with all Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, Fleet Maintenance Manager and assist them as required.


• Help maintain a clean and safe facility.


• Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


• Ensure the facility is properly shut down, including locking all doors and gates at the end of the shift.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.


• Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking).


• Must be at least 18 years old.


• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, cherry pickers, etc.


• Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.


• Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
