Job summary

Homans Associates, LLC seeks a Warehouse Associate to join our Wilmington, MA location. You will handle day-to-day inventory from receiving through final shipment, maintain accuracy, safety, and organization, and work with modern warehouse tech.

You'll use barcode/RFID scanning, operate forklifts, and follow OSHA standards while collaborating with Store Associates and Sales Managers. This role offers growth within a growing organization and competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of warehouse or logistics experience.
  • Proficient with inventory management systems and handheld scanners.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds regularly and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliable, punctual work habits.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory management & processing using barcode/RFID scanning.
  • Operate material handling equipment and perform pre-trip inspections.
  • Maintain organized storage and stage orders for shipment.
  • Process inventory through warehouse management systems and software.
  • Collaborate with store associates and managers with OSHA safety standards.
  • Quality control: accurate picking, packing and documentation.
  • Meet productivity targets and maintain attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Location:Wilmington Branch |Schedule:Monday-Friday 10:00 am - 7 pm |Compensation:$22.00/hour

Position Overview

Homans Associates is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi and Bryant brands of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey.

Join our dynamic crew as a Warehouse Associate and become integral to our wholesale operations. In this role, you'll handle day to day inventory operations —from receiving through final shipment— while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and organization. This position offers the opportunity to develop expertise in modern warehouse technologies and advance within a growing organization that values reliability and continuous improvement.

  • Inventory Management & Processing - Receive, bin, and ship orders using barcode/RFID scanning technology while managing purchase orders and transfers with precision
  • Equipment Operation - Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, with daily pre-trip inspections and proper safety protocols
  • Warehouse Organization - Maintain systematic storage operations, stage orders for shipment, and ensure accurate product placement throughout the facility
  • System Management - Process inventory through warehouse management systems and shipping/receiving software with meticulous attention to detail
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Store Associates and Sales Managers while consistently adhering to OSHA guidelines and company safety standards
  • Quality Control - Execute accurate picking, packing, and documentation while addressing discrepancies and operational issues
  • Performance Standards - Meet productivity targets and deadlines while maintaining consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications of a Warehouse Associate:

  • 2-3 years of warehouse or logistics operational experience
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and handheld scanning devices (barcode/RFID)
  • Computer literacy and basic math skills
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly and stand/walk for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to handle packages, operate equipment, and use tools effectively
  • Mobility to navigate warehouse spaces, climb ladders, and bend/reach as needed
  • Strong attention to detail with reliable and punctual work habits
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and commitment to safety protocols
