Job summary

Newell Brands in Wichita Packaging is seeking a Warehouse Associate to perform shipping and material handling duties, operate forklift equipment, and ensure accurate inventory and order fulfillment. You will maintain safety and quality standards while supporting team objectives.

You will process data in SAP, assist inventory counts, and coordinate with production and distribution teams. The role may require overtime and adherence to safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English instructions.
  • Ability to read safety rules, operation manuals; write routine reports.
  • Data entry skills; SAP experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification/license preferred.

Summary: Performs various duties as assigned within the Shipping Department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
  • Gets job instructions
  • Handles material to and from designated areas and workstations
  • Gets work station equipment ready for production
  • Operates material transporting equipment (Forklift) to convey materials and products between warehouses, stock departments, and production departments
  • Counts, packages and/or crates and identifies parts and products
  • May work in groups or individually as assigned
  • Performs own rework
  • Maintains quality standards
  • Reports all product shortages
  • Maintains materials and product location system
  • Fills orders from stock
  • Affixes proper identification to products
  • Determines loading sequence and loads transportation units in accordance with schedules
  • Blocks units as necessary
  • Verifies count, part number, and signs or secures signature for received or shipped materials
  • Controls inventory levels by monitoring reorder points and initiating action to replenish stock
  • Performs data entry duties as needed in SAP
  • Assists in taking inventory
  • Observes reports damaged materials or items needing back ordered
  • Completes all necessary paperwork
  • Services material transporting equipment
  • Maintains quality standards.
  • Maintains courteous and professional manner when in contact with customer/consumer and other departments
  • Keeps work station in order
  • Observes safety rules
  • Supports team objectives
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Valid Forklift license or ability to get one
  • Data entry skills, SAP experience preferred
  • Stock picker skills preferred

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before management and co-workers of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
