Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a warehouse selector for our distribution team in Ashland, VA. The role focuses on accurate product selection for Wegmans stores, requiring strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Shifts are overnight, four 10-hour days per week. The job includes operating pallets/jack equipment and maintaining cold-chain integrity, with safety training and PPE provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pallets are built safely and efficiently to minimize damage and maximize trailer space.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, and Vocollect.
• Perform order audits for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain knowledge of product quality standards and specifications.
• Communicate daily quality issues to operations management.
• Maintain cold chain integrity on loads with temperature requirements.
• Lift 20–25 pounds on average; occasionally more than 50 pounds.

Job Description:

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores, using your attention to detail and teamwork skills to ensure success.

Work schedule: Overnight positions consist of four 10-hour shifts per week

What You'll Do

• Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently in a manner that minimizes product damage in transportation and maximizes trailer space
• Safely operate equipment necessary to perform job duties; this may include a forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
• Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
• Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
• Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports as well as other forms of necessary communication
• Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
• May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures; lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

Note : Frozen positions earn an extra $2.00 /hour
