Job summary

S&W Foods is seeking a motivated Warehouse Associate to join our operations team in a unified, cross-trained environment. You will master all facets of our foodservice logistics engine—receiving, putaway, and order fulfillment—while safeguarding food safety and ensuring customers get exactly what they need.

This role emphasizes safety, inventory accuracy, proper FIFO rotation, and collaboration across zones (dry, cooler, freezer).

Responsibilities

• Operate certified equipment safely, including at high rack heights, and report hazards immediately.
• Work across all warehouse zones (dry, cooler, freezer) and protect the cold chain.
• Inspect inbound trailers for cleanliness and temperature, verify freight against POs, and isolate discrepancies.
• Use RF scanners to track inventory movements accurately under your credentials.
• Rotate stock with FIFO, replenish pick faces, and avoid overfull locations or damage.
• Adhere to FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and sanitation protocols with attention to allergen separation.

Instead of being locked into a single repetitive task, you will join a unified, cross-trained warehouse team. You will master all facets of our foodservice logistics engine— to where the work is, protecting food safety, and ensuring our customers get exactly what they need.

What You Will Own as a Warehouse Associate for S&W Foods

• Safety & Equipment Mastery: Maintain 100% compliance with warehouse safety rules, traffic patterns, and PPE mandates. Conduct daily pre-shift inspections, operate certified equipment safely (including at high-rack heights), and immediately report any hazards or damage.
• All-Zone Cross-Training: Work productively across all warehouse climates—including dry, cooler, and freezer environments. Act as a guardian of the cold chain by keeping temperature-sensitive products in their correct zones to protect food safety.
• Inbound Logistics & Receiving: Inspect inbound trailers for cleanliness and temperature compliance before unloading. Break down and verify freight against purchase orders by exact item, pack, quantity, lot number, and expiration date while immediately isolating discrepancies.
• System Precision & Tracking: Utilize RF scanners to accurately track and complete every inventory movement under your own credentials. Identify and elevate system errors or unreadable labels to leadership instead of making unauthorized adjustments.
• Inventory Control & Putaway: Execute flawless FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation to ensure older products are selected first. Promptly replenish pick faces and place stock safely without forcing items into overfull locations or damaging equipment.
• Food Safety Excellence: Safeguard product quality against punctures, crushing, and contamination. Strictly adhere to FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, and company sanitation protocols, including meticulous allergen separation and traceability tracking.

• Flawless Cold Chain Management: You master the logistics of our multi-temperature facility by executing swift transitions between dry, cooler, and freezer zones, ensuring temperature-sensitive inventory remains fully protected and compliant at all times.
• Flawless Inventory Accuracy: You take pride in precision. You scan every single move correctly with your RF credentials, verify every PO line item during receiving, and enforce strict FIFO rotation so no product expires on your watch.
• Proactive Problem Solving: When a system error pops up, a label won't scan, or an inbound shipment is damaged, you don't guess or ignore it—you immediately pause, segregate the stock, and elevate it to leadership.
• True Team Collaboration: You embrace the unified warehouse concept. You don't say "that's not my job"—instead, you gladly move to wherever the operational bottleneck is to help the team win.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Environmental Resilience: Fully capable of working in all warehouse temperature zones (including Dry, Cooler, and ultra-cold Freezer environments) as well as exterior settings across all weather types.
• Stamina & Adaptability: Ability to stay on your feet for long periods of time and pull open-ended shifts to ensure all work is completed for the night.
• Physical Labor: Ability to independently perform intense physical labor, including lifting up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
