Job summary

World Electric, a member of the Sonepar family, is hiring a Warehouse Associate in a full-time role. The position focuses on receiving, put-away, picking, packing, loading, routing, and inventory control to ensure accurate, timely deliveries across Florida and Georgia.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus forklift/cherry picker experience and proficiency with Word/Excel. Workplace safety and team collaboration are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 3+ months related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and record materials; move goods within the warehouse.
• Put away, pick, pack, and load inventory for shipping.
• Maintain accurate inventory in ERP; perform cycle counts.

What You’ll Do

You will:

Receiving

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, packing slips, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

Verifies and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

Drives equipment to transport items within the warehouse.

Uses computer to enter records.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Put away

Sorts and places material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, style, or product code.

Sorts and stores stocked goods in warehouse.

Marks materials with identifying information.

Weighs or counts items for distribution within warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.

Picking

Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to customers and sales.

Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.

Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.

Packing

Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

Verifies the product that has been picked and documents discrepancies on an error log and has correct product re-picked.

Confirm tickets.

Uses computer to enter records.

Loading

Consolidates freight for shipping.

Loads trucks for delivery to customers.

Routing

Facilitates and distributes shipping tickets

Verifies shipping method

Communicates oversize loads to freight carriers

Inspects and maintains printing equipment

Ensures shipping routes are maintained

Inventory Control

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system.

Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile variances promptly.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, reporting findings to
management.

Pipe Yard

Receive pipe and conduit

Prepare pipe and conduit bundles for shipping orders

What You’ll Bring

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or

Three months or more related experience and/or training; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements :

Ability to:

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units to measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, the Internet

Minimum two years of forklift/cherry picker experience

Basic safety knowledge (i.e., proper lifting techniques, etc.)

Physical Demands: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs.

Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.

Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.

Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.

Occasionally, it may be required to lift items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance.
