This labor-intensive position is responsible for hand-building pallets of product for bulk and route trucks. Each loading requires strict attention to order accuracy with respect to loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming trucks. Employees work from electronic order systems or order sheets to build loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. The position ensures accuracy in loading and compliance with shipper/receiver documentation. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is essential.
The role may require working in various weather conditions and hours, with shift durations varying based on workload. Responsibilities include transporting full pallets onto trailers, removing returned pallets and flats, unloading raw materials, and placing them in designated warehouse spaces. For bulk truck loading, selecting designated packages and flavors, stacking, and shrink-wrapping pallets are required. Pallets are then loaded onto trailers for local delivery. The role also involves unloading returned products and managing pallets and flats.
Loading involves selecting packages based on sales orders, with the worker responsible for maintaining pallet stability. The position requires lifting cases weighing 20-45 pounds repeatedly, standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping throughout the shift.
