Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager or management designee

Employees Supervised: None

Starting Hourly Rate: $19.00 per/hr

Start time: 5am

General Description/Position Summary

The primary responsibility is the acceptance and delivery of all Foodbank products, general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of facilities and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with Inventory Control Manager to oversee the storage, and rotation of product in an efficient, organized and safe fashion.
  2. Ensure all product is labeled, racked, and rotated accurately; remove as directed.
  3. Conduct accurate count of physical inventory as determined by Inventory Control Manager.
  4. Responsible for picking and staging orders for pick up or delivery.
  5. Assist in inventory reconciliation and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  6. Assist in monthly distribution preparation, tracking, and reconciliation.
  7. Assist in the distribution process to meet customer needs.
  8. Inspect all product upon receipt, paying close attention to the temperature of freezer and refrigerated items, and determine fitness of product for distribution.
  9. Assist with recycling program, including loading of baler and transporting cardboard.
  10. Learn agency dock policies and procedures.
  11. Follow safe workplace policies and policies related to food safety and equipment safety.
  12. Maintain daily cleaning schedule inside and outside of warehouse.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Warehouse experience preferred.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
  • Skilled in operation of standard warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to work in a freezer/refrigerated environment regularly.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a warehouse environment with extensive walking on concrete surfaces. Conditions can be hot in summer, cold in winter, dusty, noisy, and involve exposure to spoiled food and sharp objects. Must be able to lift, bend, and move objects up to 75 pounds and operate manual pallet jacks. May require evening and weekend work for special events and projects.
