Job summary

MRC Global is hiring for a warehouse position in Richmond, VA. The role involves pulling stock, loading trucks, boxing and palletizing orders, and entering data into our inventory system. You will ensure accurate material handling and timely shipment preparation while following safety policies.

The role requires basic math, typing, and strong reading skills, plus a valid driver’s license. Physical work includes lifting 25-50 pounds and standing for long periods, with overtime and weekend shifts

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable record at all times.
  • Typing and basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and business processes preferred.
  • Basic math and good reading skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Unload materials, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks.
  • Inspect materials per MRC Global quality requirements.
  • Stock and transfer materials to shelves by a predetermined sequence.
  • Mark materials with correct identifying information.
  • Transfer materials to and from shops for modifications.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and package as required.
  • Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer.
  • Load onto trucks or packing area using forklift and heavy equipment.
  • Prepare shipment documentation (UPS, LTL, SH, Air Ship).
  • Adhere to safety policies and maintain OSHA-compliant warehouse.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and report hazards or injuries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose

Maintain the flow of stocked and delivered inventory by pulling material from bins, loading material onto trucks, placing new material arrivals into bins, and scanning or entering the data into the inventory database.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Unload materials, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks.

  • Inspect material forminimumMRC Global quality requirements.

  • Stock and transfer materials, tools, and equipment to theappropriate shelf, bin, rack, or pipe bundle by a predetermined sequence, including bind location, size, type, style, and length.

  • Mark the materialswith the correct identifying information.

  • Transfer materialsto and from the shops for modification purposes.

  • Assemble customer orders from stock and package orders in boxes and pallets as per customer requirements.

  • Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer.

  • Load onto the correct truck or transfer to the packing area using a forklift, overhead crane, and heavy equipment.

  • Prepare documentation for UPS, LTL, SH, or Air Shipments.

  • Adhere to required safety policies, guidelines, and training.

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and customer safety policies.

  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.

  • Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnessesimmediately.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Any combination of requirements that provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree).

  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable record at all times.

  • Ability to learn MRC Global, federal, health, and safety regulations.

  • Typing and basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn MRC Global warehouse operations and business processes.

  • Basic math andgood readingskills.

Additional Qualifications
  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficientlyin order tocommunicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.

  • Ability to understand andcomply withMRC guidelines and expectations,includingCode of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.

Working Conditions
  • All dutiesareperformed inaWarehouse environment.

  • Physical activity/exertion is routine.

  • Able to lift 25-50 poundsoverhead.

  • May be exposed to loud noises.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Operate heavy machinery/tools (as required).

  • PPE required.

  • Able to work overtime and weekends.

  • Able to work in the elements, such as in extreme temperatures (hot/cold).
