Job summary

The McPherson Companies is seeking a Warehouse Associate to perform comprehensive warehouse duties, including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, and assisting Operations personnel.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Warehouse management to ensure timely, safe supply for customers, handling shipments, pulling and staging orders, and adhering to safety procedures. Eligible drivers may deliver and operate vehicles per policy and DOT rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking) preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers.
• Knowledge of securing cargo in a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to complete forklift certification test.

Responsibilities

• Support warehouse management to ensure uninterrupted supply to customers.
• Unload/load products for intercompany, package and bulk shipments per policy and regulations.
• Pull and stage next day’s orders for drivers.
• Follow loading/unloading and flushing procedures as required.
• Deliver products per warehouse instructions and delivery tickets (when eligible).
• Operate vehicles on/off customer sites in compliance with policy and DOT (if eligible).
• Perform drumming and repackaging as needed to meet customer needs.
• Unload rail cars as required.
• Prepare and submit required paperwork promptly.
• Communicate with Operations, Dispatchers, and Fleet Maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Complete special projects or other duties assigned by supervisor.
• Shut down facility securely at end of shift.

Job description

General Summary:

To perform all warehouse functions including preparing shipments, unloading/loading trucks, driving, and assisting Operations Personnel.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Warehouse management to assure uninterruptible supply for our customers in a timely and safe manner.
• Unload and load product in and out of intercompany, package and bulk trucks for next business day’s orders in a manner compliant with company policy and local, state and federal regulations.
• Pull and stage next day’s orders for bulk and package drivers
• Engage in proper loading, unloading and flushing procedures.
• Deliver products by following instructions from warehouse management and the instructions on the delivery ticket when required (if eligible for Driver).
• Operate a vehicle on and off customer sites in a manner compliant with company policy and procedure and compliant with DOT (if eligible for Driver).
• Perform drumming requirements and other repackaging products within company guidelines to meet customers' needs, as necessary.
• Unload Rail Cars as required per company guidelines.
• Check with Operations Management for instructions at the beginning of each shift.
• Prepare, complete and submit, in a timely manner, the paperwork required by MOP
• Communicate with all Operations Personnel, Dispatchers, Fleet Maintenance Manager and assist them as required.
• Help maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Responsible for the completion of special projects or the assignment of other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure the facility is properly shut down, including locking all doors and gates at the end of the shift.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous warehouse experience (filling/packaging/picking).
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), pallet jacks, cherry pickers, etc.
• Knowledge of procedures to secure cargo in or on a commercial vehicle.
• Ability to successfully complete the forklift certification test.

Working Environment:

The work of this position is performed in both inside and outside environments in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing are also required. In this position, associates may be exposed to hazardous materials, vapors, fumes, and extreme weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided for employees working in these conditions.
