Job summary

Ridwell in Portland, OR is seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our mission of waste reduction by handling materials for reuse and recycling, and by ensuring accurate outbound shipments. You will operate balers and pallet jacks, and collaborate with a team to keep processes efficient and safe.

The role is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30a to 4:00p. Starting wage is $20.75 per hour, with tenure-based increases after 6 months and 1 year, plus a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must maintain consistent attendance
• Read and follow written or oral instructions in English
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with pallet jacks and/or balers is a plus
• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions across all four seasons
• Sort and process materials to maximize reuse and recycling
• Operate warehouse equipment with on-the-job training
• Prepare outbound shipments

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30a-4:00p

Starting wage for this position:$20.75/hour

Tenure-based wage increases at 6 months and one year

Responsibilities

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time


• Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions, including all 4 seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring)


• Sort and process materials carefully to maximize reuse and recycling potential.


• Operate warehouse equipment, including balers, pallet jacks, and straddle stackers, with on-the-job training provided as needed


• Prepare outbound shipments accurately


• Other duties are assigned as necessary by management

Requirements

• Ability to maintain consistent attendance - we count on each other to be here when scheduled so we can deliver excellent service as a team


• Must be able to read and follow written or oral instructions in English


• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment


• Previous Warehouse experience is highly desirable


• Ability to communicate effectively in English digitally over text message and email


• Experience using pallet jacks and/or balers a plus


• Forklift certification is highly desirable


• Must be 18 years or older


• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.


• Must be able to lift 50lb to the height of 3-4 feet and load and unload them from trucks.


• Must be able to lift 85lb buckets onto a hand truck to push to storage.


• High school, GED, or equivalent diploma


• Must pass a background check if offered the position


• This is a unionized position represented by Teamsters Local 305
