Job summary

Ridwell in Austin is looking for a motivated Driver to support our expanding operations. Safely operate high-roof cargo vans across the city and handle warehouse duties as needed, delivering Ridwell bins and kits to members’ homes.

Starting wage is $19/hour with tenure-based increases and a $50/month cell phone stipend. Full-time benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), PTO, sick leave, holidays, and commuter perks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a valid TX driver’s license.
• Must have had a valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Ability to read and follow written or oral instructions in English.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 49 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Must pass a background and motor vehicle history check if offered the position.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Ridwell high-roof cargo vans throughout the Austin area.
• Complete between 125 - 150 daily stops efficiently and accurately.
• Collect members' materials from designated bins at their homes.
• Deliver Ridwell bins and new member kits to members’ homes.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with Ridwell members.
• Transition between driving and warehouse responsibilities as needed.

About the role

Our warehouse is located 1.5 miles east of the Domain, in North Austin.

Schedule: Monday-Friday - 7:30a-4:00p

Job Duties

• Safely operate Ridwell high-roof cargo vans throughout the Austin area
• Complete between 125 - 150 daily stops efficiently and accurately
• Collect members' materials from designated bins at their homes
• Assist with completing remaining stops after finishing your assigned route
• Navigate routes effectively using the provided smartphone apps
• Maintain regular communication with our dedicated Driver Support team regarding route timing
• Manage loading and unloading of vehicles efficiently
• Deliver Ridwell bins and new member kits to members’ homes
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with Ridwell members
• Work safely outdoors and in all weather conditions, various temperature extremes, including heat, cold, moisture, and wind
• Transition between driving and warehouse responsibilities as needed
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures consistently
• Support additional operational needs as they arise
• Maintain positive communication with team members across all functions
• A smartphone is required for GPS navigation and route management (phone stipend provided).

Job Requirements

• Ability to maintain consistent attendance - we count on each other to be here when scheduled so we can deliver excellent service as a team
• Must be 21 years or older with a valid TX driver’s license
• Must have had a valid driver's license for at least 3 years
• Ability to read and follow written or oral instructions in English
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach, and lift up to 49 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must own and be able to use a smartphone and Google or Apple maps
• Ability to communicate effectively digitally via text and email
• Must pass a background and motor vehicle history check if offered the position

$19 - $19 an hour
