Job description

Description

This position is responsible for the operation of supply storerooms, including receiving, shipping, packaging, inspection, safeguarding, issuing, preserving for storage, and transferring stock. This includes tools, parts, raw materials, assemblies, instruments, equipment, and other supplies in accordance with policies, procedures, requirements, and specifications established by the Company, applicable Government Agencies, and aircraft manufacturers as contained in approved Maintenance Manuals.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience in aircraft stores, material control, and/or shipping.
  2. Familiarity with aircraft stock catalogues, components, parts or stock lists, and the ability to look up part numbers.
  3. Ability to perform physical labor and accurately follow verbal or written instructions.
  4. Proficiency in using hand tools and equipment such as hammers, saws, crowbars, hand trucks, and jack trucks.
  5. Legible reading and writing skills.
  6. Knowledge of operating motor vehicles and forklifts.
  7. Knowledge of handling, transporting, shipping, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  8. Understanding of hazardous material handling and disposal related to the job.
  9. Ability to operate computer equipment and programs with proper training.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Ensure efficient operation of receiving, shipping, storerooms, warehouses, and stock issue stations following supply procedures and instructions.
  2. Perform duties related to receipt, storage, issue, transfer, or shipping of stock.
  3. Set up and maintain efficient storage and supply areas.
  4. Maintain authorized stock levels and issue materials as needed.
  5. Complete, verify, and maintain records, forms, and reports using computers or other methods.
  6. Research and identify stock items using technical orders, stock lists, and manuals.
  7. Plan work and instruct personnel in shipping, receiving, issuing, and packaging tasks.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
  2. Ability to climb and work from ladders and heights.
  3. Work with hands extended overhead.
  4. Correctable near and far vision.
  5. Ability to hear at conversational level with hearing aids.
  6. Lift up to 50 lbs.
  7. Handle and control small parts and operate hand tools properly.
