Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse/Inventory professional to manage material flow across plants in the Southeast and nationwide. You will operate forklifts, maintain accurate inventory, and support both planned and unplanned outages with minimal supervision.

  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or technology related field preferred.
  • Five (5) years of warehouse experience in the utility, generation, transmission, and distribution industry.
  • Seven (7) years of warehouse experience in non-utility, generation, transmission, distribution, or related industry as equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license meets insurance requirements and forklift certification is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physically able to stand, kneel, climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and stand up to 10 hours.
  • Great attendance and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to commute and travel between two or more locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Background check and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operates Powered Industrial Trucks and secures material for transfer to storage locations.
  • Support two plants with receiving, storing, staging & shipping material as needed.
  • Support outages, maintenance activities at various sites.
  • Maintain inventory records in Maximo and hardcopy records.
  • Keep warehouse facilities clean and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Perform quarterly cycle counts and participate in inventories.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure material accuracy.
  • Resolve inbound/outbound freight issues in a timely manner.
  • Receive, unload, inspect, label, store, stage, load and ship materials.
  • Provide inventory reports as requested.
  • Dust and maintain storage areas; assist with annual inventories.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safely operates Powered Industrial Trucks by securing material prior to transferring to or from storage locations.
  • Support two plants with the potential to support other plants, in the area of receiving, storing, staging & shipping material as needed.
  • Support ongoing Plant Operations planned outages, unplanned outages & maintenance activities at the various sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory incoming, outgoing, receipts, transfers & bin movement (both in the Maximo system and all hardcopy records).
  • Maintain clean and orderly warehouse facilities that comply with good business practices and all safety regulations.
  • Perform quarterly cycle counts and participate in annual inventories.
  • Work with each plant’s material specialist, inventory champion, plant personnel and on-site plant management to ensure accuracy of materials received, put away, issued and/or returned.
  • Timely resolution of inbound/outbound freight issues
  • Receive, unload, inspect, label, store, stage, load and ship materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and provide reports as requested.
  • Dust, clean and maintain warehouse and storage areas to comply with good business practices.
  • Prepare for and perform full Annual Inventories, Quarterly Cycle Count inventories.
