Position Summary

This position will be responsible for all samples department functions, including but not limited to database entry, pulling, gathering, and cutting tile, creating tile marketing boards, inventory, and ordering materials and shipping, with the overall goal of providing the highest possible quality and efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Arrange various tiles onto display boards following predetermined patterns and glue tile and mosaic pieces onto cardboard stock, building, and designing custom sample boards.
• Create tile marketing boards for shops and showrooms.
• Manage inventory, including cycle counts, mid-year, and fulfill-years, understanding inventory and ordering processes.
• Assist in managing all samples that come into the branch office; organize/oversee samples, inventory, tracking, receipt of samples, receipt management, and ordering.
• Support all entry and administration to support the LTL Freight software.
• Set up a sample work area, building racking and shelves, creating labels, and ensuring the sample area remains clean and well-organized.
• Understand operations thoroughly and identify opportunities to increase efficiency in daily tasks.
• Obtain and ship new products quickly to deploy to the branch.
• Ship samples back to vendors as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for all vendor sample inquiries.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes safely, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Process incoming orders accurately.
• Load and unload materials onto trucks safely and accurately.
• Stage materials for customer viewing and truck loading.
• Inspect, count, and verify all materials/products received against paperwork; note discrepancies.
• Sign off on all orders and cross-check with co-workers/supervisor.
• Secure slabs during loading/unloading.
• Tag and identify materials as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including handling pallets and waste disposal.
• Ensure quality control by inspecting materials during loading and unloading to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Follow all safety policies and SOPs, including PPE usage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Forklift experience required.
• Customer Service experience preferred.
• LTL Freight experience – comfortable working with freight software for pickup and delivery.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Active, mostly on your feet (about 60%).
• High-paced environment.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ lbs.
• Work around noisy, vibrating, and hot equipment.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Flexible hours, including some Saturdays, depending on branch hours.
